Lakeside Gardeners

August 2022

Rena Rockwell has been interviewing our local gardeners and taking pictures of them and their gardens. It is amazing what these folks can manage to grow in our very difficult Missouri soil.

View The Gardens of Lake Tishomingo and admire the results of the hard work these folks put in to make our community beautiful.

The Lakeside Gardeners care for the gardens at the sales office, around the flagpole and near the pump house. Several of the gardeners designed, built, and maintain the minipark near the bus shelter.

The gardeners created the large rustic signs at the flagpole and near the four-way stop. They remodeled the sales office, the bus shelter, and the guard shack. Their most recent accomplishment is the construction of the gazebo in the lakefront recreation area.

The Lakeside Gardeners are working hard to remove invasive plants from wooded areas at Lake Tishomingo.

The main target is honeysuckle which has several problems:

The gardeners accept memorial donations to help with lake front beautification. Plaques honoring the deceased are displayed near the pump house. To make a donation contact Frances Hovis, 274-7019, flhovis@charter.net.
