Security Gate Information

Using a gate card

Move the gate card in front of the card reader when the red LED is displayed. An easy way to remember this is: Red means STOP, wave the card, GO on green. (If you place the gate card in front of the card reader when the green LED is displayed, the gate will not open and may actually delay the opening of the gate.)

It is very important to stop in front of the gate at the stop sign, ESPECIALLY when the gate is activated (6pm on Mon - Fri, 1pm on Sat). If you do not stop you risk damage to your vehicle when the gate becomes operational.

To call a homeowner from the entry gate card reader for admittance

1) If you know the 3-digit code, press # then enter the 3-digit code, for example, enter #567. A call will be placed.

2) If you don't know the code, press # to display the first page of the list. If the person you want to call is not on this page, press # for the next page until you locate the person you want to call. Then enter the 3-digit code next to their name. A call will be placed.

3) When the person answers instruct them to press `9' on their phone's keypad to open the gate. For `9' to open the gate realize you MUST call the person from the gate. Calling a person on your cell phone and telling them to press `9' will NOT work.

Getting short term gate access

1) If you are having a party and wish to arrange for guests to easily enter the gate, you may purchase a time-limited "secret" code for your guests to use at the gate.
Contact Fred Steinmetz, 274-2853, steinmetzfn@juno.com.

2) To open the gate with the "secret" code, enter the 4-digit code. Gate should open. If three wrong 4-digit codes in a row are entered, the gate will stop responding for three minutes.

Gate hours of operation

Monday thru Friday the gate is OPEN from 6am to 6pm. This is so workers, package delivery people, and school buses have easy access.
Saturday the gate is OPEN from 9am to 1pm for mail delivery. Sunday the gate is CLOSED all day.

Vehicles with trailers.

The gate sometimes has trouble detecting a trailer behind a tow vehicle. This is especially true if the trailer is high and contains little metal, like a boat trailer. Therefore the best way to bring a trailer into the lake is when the gate is normally open. Or, you may contact a member of the gate committee and arrange for the gate to be opened for you.

How do I obtain a gate access card?

1) Only a Lake Tish property owner can apply for a gate card and the card must be issued in the property owner's name.

2) Fill in the form at www.laketishomingo.com/forms/vehreg.pdf.

Forms may also be obtained from Fred Steinmetz, 274-2853, steinmetzfn@juno.com.

3) Only one gate card will be issued per vehicle. Gate cards are $5 each to be paid when the gate card is issued.

4) When the card owner sells his property the card will be deactivated. Therefore, if the seller gives his gate card to the new owner, the new owner MUST contact a member of the Gate Cmte to have the gate card information updated.

Requirements for a phone listing at the entry gate card reader

1) Only a Lake Tish property owner can have a phone number added to the access list. This is so we know who is responsible for admitting guests to the lake.

2) The number added to the access list must be a seven digit local number located within the lake. This is to ensure that the property owner or his representative is on premises to monitor the actions of the guest.

3) If an owner sells his property the phone number will be removed from the access list.
